CoPulse editorial · · Opinion, not a job URL

A shared inbox is not your plant ERP

Distributor WhatsApp groups feel like the business because that is where the order actually moves. That does not make the thread the system of record. CoPulse is engagement for enquiry, quote follow-up, and service conversation. It is not ERP, MES, or inventory. RFPs that mix those layers stall implementations and then blame the inbox.

  • Category, not a quote recipe
  • Jobs will live on playbooks
  • How-tos will live on guides

What this post is for

This is a 2026 note for industrial operators who keep screenshots of SKU chats as if they were purchase orders. Lead qualification, order updates, and service follow-ups belong on future /industries/manufacturing/playbooks pages. This slug will not become those jobs.

The group chat is not the order

A distributor messages a regional manager. Someone quotes from memory. Someone else promises a date the plant cannot hit. When that manager leaves, the history leaves with a personal phone. Finance still needs an ERP line. The customer still needs a human who can see yesterday’s thread. Those are different systems.

A Project inbox lets the next salesperson continue the conversation. Knowledge bases can hold catalog facts you choose to publish. They do not replace ATP, credit limits, or shop-floor scheduling. Autonomous sends succeed when messages go out and get read. They do not close a PO.

What CoPulse will not pretend

Connecting WhatsApp does not become MRP. SMS is Setup → Channels, not a live promise in this essay. Wallet-only pricing meters usage. Organization and Project — not a personal vanished inbox. When channel, pipeline, and playbook leaves ship, they will teach the jobs. This page stays the category warning.
