Connect email
Outbound and inbound are separate. Most teams send with Amazon SES on a CoPulse-managed domain, then add IMAP so customer replies appear in Inbox.
In the app: Setup → Channels → Email
Pick a sending path
Inbound replies
Configure IMAP so agents and AI can read replies. Outbound-only email will send campaigns but will not thread replies in Inbox.
Settings and what they mean
The mailbox label is a CoPulse name only. It does not change From address or IMAP/SMTP hosts.
| Setting | What it means |
|---|---|
| Vendor | Mailbox (IMAP/SMTP) or Amazon SES. One path at a time. SES is simpler for volume; mailbox reuses Gmail/Outlook/Zoho. |
| From / Reply-to | From must be allowed by SES identity or SMTP. Reply-to is where humans want replies if different from From. |
| IMAP host / mailbox | How CoPulse reads inbound. Same mailbox customers reply to. Optional on SES until you need Inbox threading. |
| SMTP host | Mailbox vendor only. Host, port, username, password for outbound. |
| Signature | Appended on agent/human sends. Can include placeholders such as display name and website URL. |
How to test email
- On the email channel, use Send test email to an inbox you control (for SES sandbox, that inbox must be a verified identity).
- Open the message: From, Reply-to, and signature should match Settings.
- Reply from that mailbox. With IMAP on, the reply must appear in Inbox on this project.
- Add the test address under test contacts if you need repeatable routing.
