Messenger
Connect Facebook Messenger
Messenger setup is Page-based. You log in with Facebook, pick a Page, and subscribe to messaging events. Instagram is a separate channel even though both use Meta Login.
In the app: Setup → Channels → Messenger
Connect a Page
- Add Messenger in Setup → Channels.
- Continue with Facebook Login and grant Page messaging permissions.
- Select the Facebook Page.
- Send a test DM to the Page from a personal Facebook account.
- Confirm the thread in Inbox. Use a test contact with a Facebook PSID if you need repeatable routing.
Settings and what they mean
| Setting | What it means |
|---|---|
| Page name / Page ID | Filled after Meta Login. Page ID is used for webhook routing. Readonly. |
| Page access token | Used for outbound Messenger sends. Stored encrypted. Rotate by reconnecting Facebook if sends fail. |
| Greeting message | Shown when someone starts a new Messenger conversation with the Page. |
| Auto-reply to post comments | When on, AI posts up to two public replies per comment thread, then continues in Inbox only. Reconnect Facebook if comment text shows as (Comment) or public replies fail. |
How to test Messenger
- On Settings → Try this channel, open Message on Messenger (your personal Facebook account, not the Page).
- Send a short DM. Confirm the thread in Inbox. After that first message, CoPulse can reply without a template.
- If you enabled comment auto-reply, comment on a Page post from a personal account and confirm a public reply (max two) then Inbox.
- Optional: save a Facebook PSID / link code on test contacts for a stable tester.
